iScanDocs does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Every scan, every document, every piece of extracted text stays on your iPhone. No account, no analytics, no server. The only external service the app touches is RevenueCat — and only if you choose to make a purchase.
What we collect
Nothing. iScanDocs is a local iOS application. It has no backend, no server, and no database of its own. Documents you scan, text that is extracted, and folders you create are stored exclusively in your iPhone's local Documents directory — accessible to you via the Files app — and remain entirely on your device.
We have no access to any of it.
Camera access
iScanDocs requests access to your iPhone's camera to operate the document scanner. The camera is used exclusively within the app to capture document images. No photos are saved to your Camera Roll unless you explicitly choose to do so. No camera data is transmitted anywhere.
Camera access uses Apple's VisionKit framework — the same technology used by Apple's own Notes app scanner. All processing is performed on-device.
Document deskewing and OCR
iScanDocs straightens scanned documents using VisionKit's geometric edge detection — a mathematical perspective correction, not an AI model. Likewise, text extraction (OCR) is performed using Apple's Vision framework, running entirely on your device. No document image or extracted text is sent to any server, model, or third-party service.
This design makes iScanDocs suitable for confidential documents, legal work product, medical records, and any material subject to professional confidentiality obligations.
File storage
Scanned PDFs and companion text files are saved to your iPhone's Documents directory, organized by folder names you choose. These files are visible and accessible via the iOS Files app. You can move, rename, copy, AirDrop, or delete them at any time using standard iOS tools. iScanDocs does not maintain any proprietary lock on your files.
Purchases and subscriptions
iScanDocs may offer optional in-app purchases processed through Apple's App Store and managed via RevenueCat. If you make a purchase:
- Apple processes your payment. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction.
- RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous installation identifier to verify your entitlements. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or payment information. Review RevenueCat's policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
- moo53 labs receives no payment information and no personally identifying data from either party.
If you do not make a purchase, the app makes no external network requests of any kind.
Analytics and crash reporting
iScanDocs includes no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, and no usage tracking. We do not know how many times you have opened the app, how many documents you have scanned, or which features you use.
No account required
There is no sign-up, no login, and no user account of any kind. Your documents are your documents.
Children's privacy
iScanDocs is a general-purpose document tool with no age-restricted content. Because it collects no personal data from any user, no special handling is required for users under 13.
Changes to this policy
If anything material changes — for example, if a future version adds analytics or cloud sync — this page will be updated and the effective date will reflect the change. We will not introduce data collection silently.
